Thought I'd put this here in case anyone else is interested in doing something of the sort. Not anything too insanely clever, mind you :gap: I also wanted to keep things looking as stock as possible (less likely to get broken into); I'll remove the "SCION" lettering off the headunit when I get a chance.
Since getting one of those new 80 GB Zunes, I realised that since the first generation A/V pack docks can fit it (and are cheap) I somehow may be able to install it in the Celica. Better than having to deal with the cassette adapter I used with the stock headunit.
The dock itself is approximately the same height as the stock clock on the centre console so I removed it and stuck the dock there with velcro.
Bought a cheap Zune car charger off eBay, soldered an extra cigarette lighter socket to my existing three way socket adapter with enough cabling where it can be hidden in the area near the fuses.
The cabling goes down the back of the centre console to the lighter socket and to the (from Gromaudio on eBay) auxillary input box connected to the back of the Scion headunit.
Stuck a little bit of Velcro behind the little remote that came with the dock so I can have it next to the driver seat hidden when not in use.
The sound is pretty damn good, the Zune stays charged and it is visible. Plus the remote allows me to operate it without having to stretch across.
