Fred Avril's "That Horse Must Be Starving". Some good, some just "meh" (or "feh"). Worth the $1-$2 for the trade from Lala but other than a couple really nice pieces, eh...
For those who know of Star Wars, in the words of the inimitable ShyFX & UK Apachi's "Original Nuttah". Yes, I am on a sudden jungle craze. What can I say.. Massive? Boyaaaa? More bass than a ruffneck's rude bwoy TR-909 can muster.
Mi badder than di bad bwoy Darth Vader feared
Let off da Jedi where you are, Skywalker
Inna Wan's school dem call mi troublemaker
I have to admit: Gavin King knows what he is doing. I did actually catch a DJ set of his at The Rock a few years ago and it was just mental; lots of good drum & bass and if I recall correctly a little smattering of jungle. Anyway, while I doubt I'll ever look at his modern (Aphrodite) stuff the same way I view his halcyon Two-Amiga-as-guerrilla-weapons days with Urban Shakedown, it is excellent stuff. He knows his jump-up d&b. And goes down well when trying to get things done and be productive without spending time pondering things. Some Justice, indeed.
Well, another 30 eMusic downloads. This will be a weird one. I have been eyeing Client for a while now, only I also want Technoir. And I want - nay, need - some Gorefest. Thing is, I am not sure what to do as I have been finding that eMusic has some greek artists that are interesting. Well, not Stereo Nova level (I said interesting, not stupendous) but they do have Marshaeux (those girls are bloody good but I don't know if I would listen to the album). Strangely enough there is only one Mikro track there, those IDM minimalist retro people are worth looking in to (same label as Marshaeux and, incidentally, Mesh)... Pity they have no Stereo Nova. And I still want to get some Architect, seeing Daniel Myer live means that I really REALLY need to get some of his Architect stuff.
